It’s time …
So now we know about your company’s online image.
We’ve discussed that the reviews online will affect your ability to hire the right people to fill the positions in your company or the way your new hires come to work in the beginning … looking for the PROOF that the reviews they read are accurate.
Well this week we are staying away from the internet and all past employees (disgruntled or otherwise) and we are focusing on the people who are currently working for you.
We are going to FOCUS on your BOTTOM LINE!
After-all … when you take care of your PEOPLE the MONEY will take care of itself!
Let’s take a look at a 3rd-year apprentice who, for some reason, just isn’t living up to his potential.
He has started calling in 15 minutes before the start of his shift to advise he’s NOT coming in (and usually on Monday).
He’s making mistakes he hasn’t made since he first began.
He’s not the plugged in, high calibre worker he’s been for the last 3 years. The employee whose performance has been making you think of offering him a pay raise*.

Now it’s time for this week’s exercise … as usual it’s super simple (and yet maybe you’re not going to find it very easy).
You will need a notebook, a pen, and a couple minutes a day (yes, this is an on-going exercise).
At the end of the week you will need to have a conversation (this is the not so easy part) where you state the FACTS and then sit back and LISTEN. Remember to ask “How can I help you?”
